CVBT to Partner at Chancellorsville "Annual Park Day" Again in 2013

Calling Volunteers for the April 6 “Annual Park Day Clean UP"

The Central Virginia Battlefields Trust has saved over 1000 acres of endangered Civil War battlefields. In 2012 we partnered with The Friends of Wilderness Battlefield and the Civil War Trust to sponsor the annual Park Day clean up. This was the first year the event was expanded to include the Chancellorsville battlefield. The CVBT will again sponsor the Chancellorsville battlefield in 2013. Come on out and help spruce up the battlefield in time for the 150th anniversary of Lee's greatest victory! CVBT will have our outstanding promotion booth under the big red tent with materials and goodies to buy to help support the cause.

Friends of Wilderness Battlefield (FoWB) is pleased to announce a major expansion of its efforts and support for the Annual Park Day 2013 nationally sponsored by the Civil War Trust and HistoryTM

On Saturday, April 6th  FoWB in overall partnership with the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park will host the Annual Park Day event in collaboration with site specific partners at four battlefields.  The battlefields and their respective partners are listed below:

“Wilderness” with the Civil War Study Group at Lake of the Woods

“Chancellorsville” with the Central Virginia Battlefields Trust

“Spotsylvania Court House” with the Spotsylvania County Department of Tourism

“Mine Run” with the Civil War Trust and Orange County Department of Tourism

It is an ambitious undertaking that we could not have even considered if it were not for the much-welcomed spirit of collaboration with these significant partners, “ said  FoWB President Zann Nelson. “ In widening the scope of FoWB’s work for this nationally celebrated day, the intent is to bring greater visibility and awareness to the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park (FRSP) and the Civil War Trust (CWT), as well as each one of the battlefields individually and all partners involved.”
